The New Crisis of Capitalism

  • Since World War II, the west has been at war in over 200 situations around the world. Capital could not sustain itself without constant, total warfare.
  • The USSR fell to pieces because it neither abolished capital nor would fully comply with the interests of capital.
  • China has been completely co-opted and is in the process of being destroyed.
  • The world is on the verge of a total ecological collapse.

We all know these basics, but it’s difficult to see the big picture without the help of an authority. Here he is. István Mészáros is one of the last surviving students of Georg Lukács (the philosopher who wrote History and Class Consciousness). He’s often described as the de-facto leader of the Budapest school of Western Marxism. (wikipedia)
