The Wheel of Retribution

January 12, 2009 by J. Madson

Bill Moyers insightful commentary on the continuing violence in the Middle East. He begins around 2:20

Moyer’s asks how we can turn this tragedy into peace. At some point we must sacrifice the sacrifices of war. At some point we must love even our enemies and refuse to sacrifice their children and our own children to the Gods of War.

We should not be like Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? …We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death. Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
1 John 3:12-17

I love Bill Moyers, and that was a fantastic piece.

I love the “V for Victory” style getup of the marchers. “V”ery appropriate.
