I am personally ashamed that we ever came to this as a nation.

There’s plenty of blame to go ’round. Here’s agents of CSIS (Canada’s fascist secret police thugs) in Guantanamo, harassing and psychologically terrorizing a little boy.

The day this came out (16 July) I had to go to the ICBC office in Nelson. There was actually a little demonstration, which surprised me. Canadians are fairly snivelized.

Thank you for posting this. I am going to spread this information where I can. So incredibly disturbing. I feel so ashamed.

Haven’t had much faith in leaders or government or ideas of American exceptionalism for a majority of my life, so not much to lose. I didn’t feel especially surprised. There weren’t any big revelations here, we’ve known this was going on. The weirdest thing was that while reading them I kept thinking I was reading poorly written dialog between fictional characters in some really bad action novel. I had to keep reminding myself, “This is actually real, these are actual government documents!” Actually, though, that’s how I’ve often felt reading government documents, even some from back in World War II. Maybe that’s why I just don’t feel surprised.
